The Border Artists
I did eventually attend college (Cornell University, University of Colorado, BFA, Emporia State University, M.A. in clay and glassblowing) and for the past 31 years, I have roamed the country doing art fairs. This along with running marathons is where I developed my philosophy of keep on keeping on.
I have an idea; it leads to another and another. I now have so many notebooks full of ideas (projects) that I need to live to be a hundred to complete a small portion of them.
I started working in clay while in college. Having worked my way through raku, wood fired pots, functional ware and dysfunctional teapots, I am now making very thin, hand-torn clay tiles which, once fired, are attached to canvas and painted. Bright colors and humor are the staples of my work.
